Mon, 4 May 2009 Seattle Sexplorations is a social club for singles and couples dedicated to sexually-oriented education and entertainment. We're different from any other club. You come to our events to make friends with a common interest in sex (but not to hook-up for sex).
Even the most conservative of our members can feel proud of their membership because simply having an interest in sex IS socially acceptable! Whether traditional or alternative, conservative or liberal, straight, gay or bi, our members believe it is okay to enjoy adult-oriented events. We bring people together who have a healthy interest in sex to make new friends and learn from each other in a safe, comfortable and socially interactive environment. We take you to the vendors and organizations devoted to sexuality you might otherwise not visit on your own and let you peek behind the curtain. Comments[0] | ||||||||||||||

Wed, 18 March 2009 Northern Xposure Weekend – affectionately dubbed “NX ” by veteran attendees -- is an LGBT social and fundraising event that takes place in Seattle each August. Produced by Rich Kaalaas of Rein Fire Ranch Productions, and the NX volunteers, it raises money for Lambert House, a resource center for GLBT youth. Various social gatherings – beach parties, dances, a boat cruise and other events – allow attendees to enjoy one of the most beautiful places in the country at a particularly beautiful time of year.Since its inception in 2000, Northern Xposure Weekend has raised more than $100,000 for Lambert House. Because of this amazing effort by a generous group of friends, Lambert House has kept its doors open to the gay youth of today, helping to shape those who will be gay leaders tomorrow. Begun primarily as a social gathering at Rein Fire Ranch, the weekend’s series of events has changed over the years, but its purpose – enjoying the company of friends while helping Lambert House – remains the same. Retooled in 2004, NX took the form of a one-night collaborative effort with CastroBear Presents, and fabled DJ John LePage brought SWEAT to Seattle in a whole new way. The following year, taking it Off the Farm, and into the Big City, NX moved onto the calendar of Seattle-wide gay events, and again helped publicize the important work of Lambert House. A year later, under the Viking-themed banner of You Can't Pillage The Willing -- CastroBear Presents, BigMuscle.com, 'Mo Magazine and others teamed with Rich to present the spinning talents of John LePage, Blaine Soileau, DJ Funky Bear, Sam Andrews, and the NX DJ debut performance of Ted Eiel. This year Rich and his team are working hard to plan things out, and bring another great weekend of fun and fundraising in August 20th-23rd, 2009.. Watch for more info soon. Tue, 12 June 2007 ![]() Guerrilla Masquerade Party is a bi-monthly event consisting of large groups of people dressed in costumes of all sorts, arriving unannounced at various locations (most often bars). The concept comes from the tradition of Guerrilla Queer Bar -- where gays, lesbians, fags, dykes, trannies, bisexuals, and their friends show up en masse at 'straight' bars, effectively turning them queer for the nite. The agenda of GMP is simply to dress up and have fun. Nothing political, nothing complicated. We just want to add a little variety to Seattle's nitelife, and a little chaos while we're at it. Capitol Hill HIgh - The fourth and final installment of this boisterous satire, "Seeing Red: The Final Period," promises to wrap up the free-associative story that began a year ago, and had sold out tickets for limited seats to its previous three episodes. This week we chat with our friend
John and his longtime friend and ex - partner, Peter Fox, go back to biblical times. In those days, such scriptural characters as Methuselah lived to be, quite literally, thousands of years old. John, himself, is thousands of years old and Peter Fox is, in fact, Methuselah. Before they founded Fox & Fluevog, in the ancient biblical age of 1970, they were shepherds. Actually, they worked at Sheppard's, a venerable Vancouver shoe emporium, albeit a tad on the conventional side. As you can imagine, John and Peter felt a wee bit constrained, selling brogues all day to businessmen in suits and servicing only the occasional hipster. When, one day, the miraculous happened, it was followed by the inevitable: an old warehouse full of turn - of - the - century footwear (men's & women's, in mint condition, no less) became available to buy at one ridiculously low price. In a nanosecond, John and Peter were out the door and into their own store, fully stocked with brand new fifty year old shoes that, in 1969, were right in style. Fox & Fluevog immediately became the very coolest place to treat the feet and has remained so ever since. Around 1980, Peter heard the siren song of New York City and moved there to open his own store, specializing in design of Ladies' (particularly wedding) shoes. John took over the business and built it into the multinational mega corporation it is today, along the way forging his undaunted reputation for the world's most distinctive shoes.
